Arsenal coach Mikel Arteta said he was “quite worried” about Bukayo Saka after the English winger was injured in the match against Crystal Palace.
Saka suffered a hamstring injury during the match Saturday’s 5-1 win over Crystal Palace and had to be substituted in the 24th minute.
The 23-year-old had to use crutches when he left Selhurst Park.
“He felt something in his hamstring, he couldn’t continue,” Arteta said. “He’s going to have to be evaluated. (I’m) pretty worried about that.”
When asked how long Saka might be out, Arteta replied: “It’s difficult. They tested him but it’s difficult to say how bad it is.”
Arteta added that winger Raheem Sterling was also injured, keeping him out of Saturday’s match.
“We don’t know how long it will take,” he said. “Losing two players in 24 hours is not good.
“Unfortunately, with the amount of games we’re playing and with this schedule, it doesn’t surprise me. But the whole team will react to that.”
Saka has only missed two matches for Arsenal this season, after suffering a hamstring injury while playing for England in October.
He also came off the field injured in the match against Chelsea in November, leaving him unable to play for England during the final international break, but could still start in the Gunners’ next match against Nottingham Forest on 23 November.
Asked if this was Saka’s third hamstring injury, Arteta said: “I’m not sure if it’s the exact same injury, in the same leg.
“I don’t know how big this is going to be but he already has two.”
